Button and Door Idea

 Blog Post 1: Button/Door Idea
 26th August 2021

The premise for my level is the player is trapped in a log cabin during a snowstorm. They notice a pinpad on the wall and go throughout the room to investigate. Throughout the room, they will find 4 interactable pieces of paper (they will have a slight glow to them) that will each have one digit of the code. Each paper will have a date in the top left corner (ex. 8/23), and by putting the pages in chronological order and inputting the digits into the pinpad they will open the "door". The "door" for my level is the hearth found within the cabin. When the digits are inputted correctly the hearth will rotate 90 degrees to reveal a small room with an elevator that leads below the cabin.

Two examples of what could be written on the pages are:

1) 8/23

Today Liam and I went for a walk in the woods. We saw two deer standing by the pond.

Here the hidden digit is the number 2 represented by the two deer the couple saw on their walk.

2) 8/24

Liam went ice fishing today with an old friend of his. He caught one of the biggest fish I've ever seen.

Here the hidden digit is the number 1 represented by the one big fish Liam caught.

Below are a few sketches of the concept.
